Bay Shore, NY – The LandTek Group Inc. is honored to be one of the driving forces behind history with the design-build of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium pitch on Long Island. The temporary, new state-of-the-art facility will host the T20 World Cup, which will be played on American soil for the first time in history this June.

The LandTek Group will be responsible for building and maintaining the professional grass stadium pitch, surrounding synthetic and natural grass practice fields, public viewing areas, and additional amenities, with a specific focus on pitch and field development. The process of procuring, assembling and growing the portable pitches has commenced at LTG Sports Turf One, LandTek’s Florida-based division. Adelaide Oval’s Head Curator Damian Hough is part of the LandTek team assisting in pitch preparation.

With its modern amenities and fan-friendly environment, the newly constructed stadium will bring 34,000 fans from across the globe to Long Island on June 3rd for the commencement of the T20 World Cup. The much-anticipated face-off between rivals Pakistan and India will be held on June 9th. This groundbreaking project marks a significant milestone in LandTek’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the sports facility construction industry.

The LandTek Group Prepares New York City FC for Regular Season Opener vs Nashville with Undersoil Heating System

Bronx, NY — On Saturday, February 25, 2023, NYCFC will face Nashville SC as the 2023 MLS regular season begins in the Music City in a matinee affair at GEODIS Park.

Last season, Nashville SC was eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs, losing 1-0 to the Los Angeles Galaxy, while the MLS Cup reign of NYCFC ended when they were beaten 3-1 by the Philadelphia Union in the Eastern Conference Final.

NYCFC has been intricately preparing to ensure that they can get back to the MLF Cup with at their practice facility, Etihad City Football Academy. A key aspect to preparation always starts at the training pitch, where their Official Pitch Supplier, The LandTek Group, Inc., helped to construct a state-of-the-art training facility for their players to prep for each match in 2018.

LandTek was instrumental in NYCFC’s construction of the Etihad City Football Academy, a first-class facility now utilized by the club. The pitch, which consists of Bluegrass sod with a sand-based root zone system, features an undersoil heating system (commonly referred to as radiant heat), and was built to allow for year-round training for the team. The pitch is considered to be among the best in Major League Soccer. LandTek also provides turfgrass maintenance at Etihad CFA, ensuring the pitch is in top form at all times.

LandTek was instrumental in NYCFC’s construction of the Etihad City Football Academy, a first-class facility now utilized by the club. The pitch, which consists of Bluegrass sod with a sand-based root zone system, features an undersoil heating system (commonly referred to as radiant heat).

In ensuring the highest quality playing conditions, LandTek’s certified professionals examine various aspects of the pitch such as pitch hardness, ball roll and grass shear.

If you are already giving up on your New Year’s resolution to be more active, tomorrow you will have a new opportunity to get on your feet in Mount Vernon.

If you are looking for a place to take advantage of the mild winter weather, and get some outdoor exercise, then Memorial Field is the place to do it.

Mount Vernon city officials are encouraging people to take advantage of what the stadium has to offer to help get healthy.

Starting Saturday, the track will be open for folks to come and run or walk, and the new skate park is opening as well.

The stadium was finally reopened back in September after being shut down for 12 years due to disrepair.

Westchester County took over the $33 million renovation project that created a stadium that seats nearly 4,000 people and accommodates various sports and events.

Beginning tomorrow, the track will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. then 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week – except when events are being held.

And the skate park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 a.m. every day, weather permitting.
