Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Soccer Stadium will soon have a new playing surface as removal of the old turf has been completed and installation of a new turf field has begun.

The new surface will be IRONTURF™ by Greenfields and the installation will be performed by The LandTek Group.

The most durable and playable turf on the market, IRONTURF™ stands up to the toughest matches, no matter the sport. IRONTURF’S benefits go beyond its pile fiber and uniform play; its woven construction also enhances playability, durability, and safety. IRONTURF™ has been installed at numerous fields and stadiums across the country including Harvard University’s Jordan Field and the University of Colorado’s Kittredge Field.

“Our program is thrilled to have a new pitch to play and train on,” said Hofstra Head Men’s Soccer Coach Richard Nuttall. “We are proud of our success, especially at Hofstra Soccer Stadium, and look forward to maintaining that championship level of play going forward. Thank you to Hofstra President Susan Poser and our athletic administration for their efforts.”

“I echo Richard’s sentiments and am equally thankful,” said Hofstra Women’s Soccer Head Coach Simon Riddiough. “Our team is quite appreciative of the improvements to our facility and will strive to create more great memories there in the future. As an alumni of the men’s soccer program, I think I can say that these updates mean a great deal to everyone associated with the Hofstra soccer programs.”

“This is tremendous for our soccer programs,” stated Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. “Both the men and women’s teams have had unparalleled success over the years and we are incredibly thankful to President Poser and the senior administration for their support as we strive to create the best possible playing environment for each team to continue to thrive. We all look forward to many more wins and championship celebrations on the new turf.”
