Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium will have a brand-new turf as the removal of the old turf has begun, setting the stage for the installation of a new turf field in advance of the 2023 season.
The field will be installed with FieldTurf Hockey Gold and the work will be performed by The Landtek Group.
FieldTurf’s Hockey Gold product is a revolutionary turf system – designed specifically for the highest levels of field hockey play. It is the industry’s premier field hockey offering. The product is built with the Elliptic fiber – a uniquely engineered filament with the same reliable, built-in durability characteristics that FieldTurf products have become known for.
“What a great day for the Hofstra field hockey program and our extended family,” mentioned Hofstra Head Field Hockey Coach Courtney Veinotte. “Our program is so thankful for the incredible leadership of President Poser and Vice President Cole Jr. to make today a reality. Our future is bright and this turf enhancement will help with our goal of winning championships! We know with the Hofstra community supporting us anything is possible.”
“This is a monumental day for our field hockey program,” stated Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. “We are thrilled for our current student-athletes, our coaching staff, the incredible alumnae of our field hockey program, and our local community who will all benefit greatly from our new field. We look forward to celebrating many wins on the new turf in the near future. A special thank you to President Poser and her senior leadership team for their support of this project.”
