Type: Full-Time
Your specific duties will include but are not limited to:
- Supervise staff and sitework to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget
- Coordinate activities effectively with the project team, construction workers and laborers regarding guidelines and scope
- Communicate and work effectively with engineers, architects, construction managers, building officials, building managers, inspectors, subcontractors and other industry professionals
- Monitor all assigned job sites and ensure sites adhere to site safety regulations, OSHA standards and SWPPP standards
- Assist in resolving issues/conflicts/emergencies related to daily construction activities (e.g., vendor contracts, work orders, supply and material deliveries, job progress)
- Manage quality of workmanship and maintain a safe, clean, well-organized job site at all times
- Ability to layout work with the use of grading lasers and setting working grades/elevations to line and grade ***A MUST***
- Manage job schedules with Project Manager to include construction schedule status and schedule forecast
- Implement and enforce policy, procedure and related work rules as established by field construction management
- Manage time effectively, multi-task and prioritize in order to meet established goals and deadlines
- Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
- Order the appropriate equipment and materials
- Track all material stock and orders
Skills
- 5-10 years of work experience as a construction superintendent
- In-depth knowledge of building practices and regulatory compliance issues
- Strong leadership skills, ability to delegate
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Multi task with a strong understanding of core superintendent duties
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, Procore, ACAD or Plus
- Familiar with construction and project management software programs
Education
- Construction Management Degree or similar field experience
Certifications
- 40 Hour OSHA Certified
- PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset
