Chris joined The LandTek Group, Inc. in July 2011, in the position of Business Development Manager. Chris has been in the athletic and educational equipment industry for over 20 years, and he brings a wealth of experience in sales, project management, and estimating to The LandTek Group.
Chris began his career at Mid States Steel Products in 1993, where he help the position of Estimator. In his time with Mid States, he negotiated terms with suppliers to help meet project budgets, provided constant customer service to clients, and assisted the Purchasing Agent in procuring materials for major projects.
In April, 1994, Chris moved on to Dent-Clayton Corporation, where he served two roles, first, as Project Manager, then Senior Estimator. In his time with the company, he developed an intensive knowledge about the spectator seating industry.
Chris then moved on to JS McHugh, Inc., located in Garden City, NY. As a sales consultant, Chris was responsible for implementing sales initiatives for furnishing to the educational market. Specialty products sold by Chris include library furniture, lockers, and grandstand and bleacher seating. Chris excelled in this position, doubling sales in grandstand and bleacher revenue over a four year span, and maintaining a strong profit margin of 18%.
After leaving JS McHugh, Chris joined Young Equipment Sales, a school equipment supplier specializing in furnishings to the educational market, as a Sales Project Manager. The products promoted by Chris range from lockers, auditorium furnishings, educational furniture, gymnasium equipment, and bleacher seating. During his time with the company, Chris organized and managed many large scale projects, expanded and managed outside installation contractors, and added and grew outdoor grandstand sales.
Chris then moved on to O’Connell Sports, under the title of Project Manager-Field Coordinator. During his time with the company, Chris oversaw installation crews, coordinated with factory deliveries with onsite equipment requirements, and maintained onsite customer relationships.
Chris has used his knowledge of the construction industry, as well as his connections throughout the Long Island K-12 world, to become and integral part of LandTek’s success. His commitment to excellence, dedication to serving his clients, and strong work ethic has allowed LandTek to continually grow.
